Painting the Living Room

Updates on Bethany and Jacob

I don't blame you if you don't believe me, but this girl has been using the big girl potty lately! She came to me a few days ago and said she needed to potty. She has pretended to potty before with her clothes on, but this time I decided to let her really try on the little potty. And she pooped. (!!!) She has tee-teeed (is that a word?) once a day since then. I am flabbergasted. We'll see how this progresses; I'm not really making any promises or anything.
Another funny thing: yesterday morning when I went to get B up, she had ALL her clothes off. No pajamas, no diaper. She was holding her diaper out to me saying, "Di-pee, di-pee. Momma, di-pee." As you can tell from this pic, she often thinks she is very funny (and she's right!).
Jacob is loving school, his new Christmas toys, and life in general. He went to the doctor yesterday, and he's 42 inches and 40 pounds. He's average in weight but in the 90th percentile in height. He did great with his three immunization shots and was VERY relieved to hear that he doesn't need any more of those until he turns 11. Yeah for Jacob! (This pic is before school on pancake and pajama day. All the kids wear their favorite pajamas and get to have pancakes for lunch.)
(Update on Naomi to come soon)

Visit from Ari and Kellyn

Jacob, Naomi, and Ari
Audra, Bethany, and Kellyn

New Tables

These tables came with our couches, but we just got them today!

Heard Around the House

Grandad: Naomi, do you know what happens when you drink too much wine?
Naomi: Yes, you get drunk.
Grandad: Do you know what that means?
Naomi: No, but it's really bad!

Jacob getting a little frustrated by something he was doing: Hey, can I get a little help over here?

Naomi: Jacob, come to breakfast! Do you want to starve?

One of the kids' new games is to play as if they have no parents and live in an orphanage. Jacob repeatedly asks Naomi: Can we play Dwarfins again?
