Ah! The beach!
One of the main attraction at this beach was all the living shell creatures
and of course the SAND
The beach is definitely one of our family's happy places. For me, the beauty and relaxation are nearly unparalleled. This beach was especially pretty because of being a state park and being on the Gulf.
We did a little hiking around the bay areas in the park.
One of those white specks in the distance is our campsite.
rafting in the bay
burying Daddy
(no hotels or houses! just dunes and beach)
our campsite
yearly family sand castle
We took advantage of the power available at our campsite--fans at night and cooking on the griddle.
ice cream at the park concessions store
The sunsets were gorgeous!
Shaving cream is very fun at the beach!
Good-bye, beach!
We stopped over in Birmingham and spent the night at my cousin Clayton's house. I'm sorry we didn't snap a pic of Clayton, Rachel and Layla (their dog)! We were thankful for their hospitality.
On the way home, we stopped by the statue of Vulcan near Clayton's house.
