Meghan's Party

Baking Party Birthday
First the girls made flowers for their chef's hats using muffin cups.
Then they got to mix up their very own cookies (which we baked and they took home in their goodie bags.)
They helped make the cookie mix and then they chose which add-ins they would like for their own cookies.

The cake was a beautiful cupcake.

It wasn't so long ago that Meghan and Bethany looked like this...

After making a foam sticker cupcake wall hanging, eating cake and opening presents, we all went outside to the neighborhood park. Thanks for a fun party!

Lunch at the Park

In order to take pics of them, I had to catch them!
(And that wasn't so easy on a beautiful day at the park!)

A Little Adoption Update

For a while we were afraid that nothing else would happen with our adoption until Bethany Christian took on their new director in April, but we are happy to say that they have hired someone part time who is doing the rest of our home study! Yay! Last Tuesday Nate and I met with Jessica and yesterday Nate met with her for his one-on-one. My one-on-one meeting will be March 20, and our home visit will be on March 22nd. This means that Jessica will come to our house, look through it to make sure a child would be happy and safe here and talk with our children.
After this home visit, our only other step is an orientation meeting. Unfortunately this meeting won't be set up until the new director comes in, so we're probably looking at a May meeting. After that we'll be completely done with Bethany Christian's adoption process.
We're excited about getting closer to having our name in Bethany Christian's "pot" of waiting families. When we are in this "pot," our only duty will be waiting and praying for the birth mom of our future baby. Please pray with us that she will come soon and choose our family!

Randomness

I regret that a lot of our pictures these days are taken as we play with my iPhone.
It's good that we're taking pics, but I'm definitely going to try to be more deliberate about using our good camera. : )
Bethany and I took a few pics as we played with Polly Pockets the other day.
And I couldn't resist a pic of her cute feet.
I found this pic of Jacob's in his discard pile, but I wanted to preserve it because of all the things you can see he is learning. Forehead lines, an awareness of his Adam's apple, detail of the texture on the tongue--all of these things amaze me!
The top and bottom of this pic are rather abstract, but Jacob's self-portrait in the middle is amazingly detailed and carefully colored.
On Saturday we went to Home Depot's Kids Workshop.
The kids were able to hammer their cars together, paint them and put stickers on them.
It was a very fun workshop!

And again, Naomi playing with the phone...

Our Easter garden
We've been talking about Easter each time we eat dinner together--and the garden helps us remember many parts of the story.
